As Cambodia’s oldest and largest university, Royal University of Phnom Penh offers a dynamic academic environment. The institution is particularly strong in humanities and social sciences, with a well-respected Faculty of Development Studies. One of the standout aspects of RUPP is its commitment to international collaboration—many programs have partnerships with foreign universities, creating exchange opportunities. However, while the university has impressive language and IT programs, some facilities, such as laboratories and libraries, could benefit from modernization. The campus itself is vibrant, with student-led initiatives and clubs fostering a strong sense of community. For those looking to study in Cambodia, RUPP provides a solid academic foundation, but students should be prepared for resource limitations in some departments.
View moreThe Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) has a welcoming atmosphere, and I felt supported by both the faculty and my fellow students. The university is known for its strong programs in social sciences and languages, and my professors were both knowledgeable and approachable. One of my favorite parts of RUPP was the extracurricular activities; I joined a debate club, which improved my public speaking and critical thinking skills. However, one area that could be improved is the availability of online resources, as many students rely on these for research. The campus is also conveniently located in the city, making it easy to access amenities. RUPP is a great choice for anyone wanting a holistic education in Cambodia.
View moreMy time at the Royal University of Phnom Penh is amazing. The university offers a diverse range of courses, and I was able to explore subjects beyond my major, which broadened my perspectives. The sense of community at RUPP is strong, and I was fortunate to make connections with students and professors who motivated me throughout my studies. While the university does its best with limited resources, some classrooms could use better facilities and equipment to enhance the learning experience. Despite these challenges, the university provides a solid foundation for future careers, especially with its emphasis on critical thinking. I would definitely recommend RUPP to students interested in a supportive and engaging academic environment.
