My experience at the university of Vigo was very educative and adventurous. It stirred me towards studying further in linguistics because of how interestingly vast the course is. I got to read a lot of books which gave me an edge over others in the command of Spanish and English
View moreThe University of Vigo is, in my opinion, one of the universities with the best study environment in Galicia, among those I have had the opportunity to visit.
The campus called CUVI, or, “the campus on the mountain”, is very pleasant, with a professional-sized football field and an athletics track, as well as a centre with restaurants and other services that can be enjoyed by students.
As my experience was brief, as I only stayed for 6 months, I cannot speak more broadly about the subjects or courses. But all the ones I made were really good. The teachers of the 4 courses I signed up for really knew what they were teaching.
The negative points may have been the difficult locomotion to the campus, as it is too far from the city and a lack of reception for new students/exchange students, which make it difficult to adapt very quickly.

The campus is far from the city and the facilities of the faculty of Philology and translation, poorly maintained. Transportation passes less frequently than is necessary and there are few buses for the number of students going to / from the campus at rush hour.
View moreThe University of Vigo has a wide variety of degrees and masters. I, personally, chose the Degree in Translation and Interpretation, since I am passionate about languages and it seemed very interesting to be able to focus on something that was not teaching. The first two years of the race leave a lot to be desired, and I fully understand that many people decided to leave it: most subjects are simple and meaningless. Already in the second cycle (third and fourth), the race focuses on translating and interpreting. A bit late, yes, but very interesting. It is a pity that I was not focused from the beginning on the translation and interpretation and do justice to his name, but I hope that will change in future promotions. As for teachers, there are bright and there are demotivating, but I imagine it will be as in all races. The location is another of the weaknesses of the university, since, from many points of the city, public transportation is not available to access it. However, leaving all this behind, my opinion on the University of Vigo is positive, since there I met very interesting people, I had very funny moments and, last but not least, I was able to find my vocation: translation .
