UNISA is a university that deals with distance learning, which means there is no attending lectures or classes, everything is done online, starting from when you receive your study materials, classes with your lectures,aasigments and exams are conducted online. you study at your time,pace and at the comfort of your home. I am on my fourth year now studying Law and honestly i would highly recommend everyone to enroll or regirester AT UNISA,you will not regret your choice.

Unisa provides world-class standard of education, and with their odel model, they are able to take over 340000 students at a time. Which also increases the number of qualified people within South Africa and across Africa as it also provides education to foreign students in neighbouring countries.

UNISA is a great long-distance institution of learning. It benefits those who do not want to go through traditional university. I wish they improve their school website and IT department for a swift use, to enable students to access their assessments hassle-free and timely.

My experience at the university has been mostly positive. The lecturers are helpful and committed, and the study material is well-structured. However, administrative processes can sometimes be slow and communication could improve. Despite this, the university offers quality education and good opportunities for students who are willing to stay disciplined and focused.

I studied Law (LLB) at UNISA, and overall my experience was mixed but valuable. UNISA is ideal for students who need flexibility, especially those who are working or unable to attend a traditional university full-time. The programme allows you to study at your own pace and is more affordable compared to many contact universities.

The Law curriculum itself is solid and well-structured, covering important legal principles and preparing students for further legal training. Some modules were well presented, and the study materials were detailed and academically sound. However, success at UNISA requires a high level of self-discipline, motivation, and time management, as there is very little direct supervision or regular contact with lecturers.

One of the main challenges was administration. Response times can be slow, and getting assistance with registrations, results, or queries can be frustrating. Communication between students and lecturers is limited, which can make it difficult when you need clarity or support.

There is also minimal campus life compared to traditional universities, so students looking for social engagement or in-person interaction may feel isolated.

Overall, I would recommend UNISA’s Law programme to self-motivated students who are independent learners and need a flexible study option. However, students who require close guidance, regular interaction, and strong administrative support may find it challenging.

As a leader in distance and online learning in South Africa, Unisa has provided a platform for a lot of us, a platform that meets world standards and continues to grow and evolve as required. With it being a distance learning institution, it provided a different challenge than what regular universities would normally present. A challenge which i can proudly say i have conquered but it was not easy as i had always had to rely on myself and the study material provided. I am pleased to have completed my degree at this institution and I hope they will continue to strive to do better and reach a higher position amongst the best universities in the country.

There are a variety of workshops that discuss how students can excel in all the various principles of the institution. The introduction of AI called for a need to know how it can be proficiently used in the academic space while maintaining academic integrity. The university offers a compulsory course for all registered students and ongoing workshops that educate students on the use of AI tools.

University of South Africa offers a balanced academic and student life experience. The campus environment is vibrant, with modern facilities and a strong sense of community. Dedicated instructors who are personable and committed to their students’ success are beneficial to them. The university’s academic programs are diverse, with many opportunities for hands-on learning, research, and internships. The University of South Africa is a remarkable location for higher education because it fosters both intellectual and personal growth.

UNISA is perfect for students who need flexibility due to work or personal responsibilities. The modules are interesting, and the study materials are detailed. The only improvement needed is faster communication from support staff.

Studying at UNISA has taught me discipline and independence. It’s not the easiest institution because you have to manage yourself, but the knowledge you gain is absolutely worth it. Admin can frustrate you, but the academic side is strong.
