But what surprised me most was the campus food—unlike many Western universities, the canteens here offer everything from Hainanese chicken rice to Japanese ramen at student-friendly prices. The peer tutors here are unsung heroes too; I once struggled in a data science module, and a fellow student from the Ridge View Residential College patiently coached me through Bayesian statistics over kaya toast. The canteen diversity is unmatched—people bond over laksa debates, and I discovered my favorite roti john there. Surprisingly, the university even has a floating library docked near campus, where students can explore niche books and network with visiting scholars.
