As an Arts and Humanities student, my experience at NTU has been mixed. The classes are intellectually stimulating and the faculty is passionate about their subjects, which I appreciate. But the campus can feel quite isolated from the bustling city, which sometimes limits social and cultural engagement. The lack of variety in food options and social spaces is also a downside. While there are some good events and workshops, they often cater more to STEM students. NTU excels in many academic aspects but could benefit from a more diverse and inclusive campus environment for the arts.

The interdisciplinary approach and access to diverse courses foster a deep intellectual curiosity. The campus environment, while academic-focused, is also very supportive of creative expression. Singapore’s rich history and cultural landscape provide a dynamic backdrop for my studies. However, compared to other fields, the arts often seem underrepresented in terms of resources and career opportunities. Still, the vibrant student community and various cultural events help balance this, making for a rewarding experience despite the challenges.
