I am a second-year student at Sterlitamak branch of the Bashkir State University. I am doing a Bachelor degree in the Department of Germanic languages of the faculty of Philology.
In our university students have great opportunities to master their future profession. There are a lot of light, spacious classrooms, lecture-halls, reading rooms and a gymnasium. Besides there are special study rooms and laboratories, where we can improve our language skills and communicate with native speakers all over the world.
We have a possibility to demonstrate and apply our knowledge during pedagogical practice at school. A great number of our students are engaged in scientific work. The themes of their research reflect a wide range of their interests.
Here teachers do not only teach their subjects. They develop their student’s intellect, their attitudes to life and to other people.
Personally, I enjoy our English lessons. We are lucky to have such a patient and tactful teacher. She never mocks at the students. She patiently corrects our mistakes and explains us everything. Our teacher does her best to make our lessons interesting and entertaining. We often work in computer class, watch English video films and then have a discussion. We listen to pop songs and try to understand the words. Knowledge of foreign languages opens many doors before us gives us many opportunities and advantages.
Be sure that our University has only highly qualified teachers, professors and associate professors!
The applying to the University has always been a natural thing. I always knew that I would go to study there. Parents supported me, everything was all right. Since the very childhood, I was a kid who was found of magic, and it’s not surprising that I grew up on «Harry Potter» books. And who could imagine that the Sterlitamak Branch of Bashkir State University would be a real Hogwarts, a place where the magic happens and all the necessary knowledge is concentrated in. From the bottom of the vivid life in our Alma Mater, I expressed myself as a diligent and industrious student like Hermione Granger and I also happened to be Neville Longbottom who used to make a bunch of mistakes. Being the students of this educational institution we literally witnessed our teachers from the department of Germanic languages creating unprecedented magic during the lessons: they brought up students of great service, taught us to see simple things in complicated ones which is, no doubt, an indispensable quality in our life. Either way, having bright examples in my sight, I’ll make sure to master this magic and obtain qualities which a great teacher and the most powerful wizard Albus Dumbledore has. To sum up, it’s a great honor for me to have a chance to learn a language of my favorite book in a place where the miracles happen every single day and to be the part of this magic society.
