I spend most of my time in the Faculty of Biotechnology as it holds most of my classes. The building is very nice, modern and well-equipped. UWr has one of the best biotech faculties in Poland. We have many classes which offers actual lab experience. Many people come here to finish their Masters or PhD. The faculty is quite small which makes it quite cosy. Students tend to know almost everyone from their year. Each year big party is thrown in order to integrate students from every year. I absolutely recommend my faculty!

What I Dislike:
Language Barriers: Depending on the program, some courses may be conducted in the local language, which can be challenging for international students who are not proficient in that language.
Bureaucracy: Like many institutions, there can be bureaucratic hurdles to navigate, which can be time-consuming and frustrating.
Limited Extracurriculars: While academics are strong, there may be fewer extracurricular activities compared to larger universities, which can impact the overall student experience.
Cost of Living: The cost of living in Wroclaw may be relatively high for some international students, especially in terms of housing and daily expenses.
Recommendation:
Based on my experience, I would highly recommend the university in Wroclaw to prospective students who value academic excellence, a diverse learning environment, and are open to embracing a new culture. The institution provides a solid education with opportunities for research and personal growth. However, it’s important for international students to be prepared for potential language challenges and to navigate administrative processes efficiently. Overall, the university can offer a rewarding educational experience for those who choose to study there.

View moreFaculty of Biotechnology has the best staff of lecturers, professors and non-academic workers of all the facutlies i have friends in. Dean’s office is really nice and cooperating, they always want and try to help. Researchers and lecturers are mostly open easy to talk to, especially about their research topics – which they usually are very enthusiastic about.
Now, there are rest areas being prepared and old chaires are being changed for newer, more comfortable chairs, bean-bags and sofas. We also have rather new and well equipped labs and overall new, modern building.
The biotechnology department provides an extremely friendly environment for students. Classes allow gradual learning, starting with the basics and leading to advanced topics. The faculty is constantly growing, offering new fields of study. Laboratory exercises provide an excellent introduction to the reality of laboratory work. Most of the staff is not only professional, but also cordial, ready to answer questions and accommodate any changes in groups. Even the opportunity to volunteer in the professors’ labs adds value to the student experience. The dean’s office, friendly and helpful, further facilitates day-to-day operations. Recent improvements to the student infrastructure, including new furniture, show concern for student comfort. I strongly recommend the Faculty of Biotechnology at the University of Wroclaw.
View moreHaving experienced the University of Wrocław firsthand, I find it to be a dynamic and enriching academic institution. I appreciate its diverse range of programs and the dedication of its faculty members in fostering intellectual growth. The campus atmosphere is vibrant, providing a conducive environment for both study and recreation. However, I have encountered some challenges with administrative processes, which could be streamlined for greater efficiency. Despite this, I wholeheartedly recommend the University of Wrocław to prospective students seeking a holistic educational experience that combines academic excellence with a rich cultural environment.
View moreThe academic quality is strong, with most professors being approachable, well-prepared, and genuinely invested in student success. What stands out to me is the practical approach to learning – in many of my courses, we’ve worked on real-world projects that offer hands-on experience, which I believe will give me an edge when entering the job market. The campus is a highlight, especially the historic parts located in the city center. It’s beautiful and has a great atmosphere for learning. The student life is active, with various student clubs, academic circles, and social events, making it easy to meet new people and develop interests outside of studies. Wrocław as a city is incredibly student-friendly, offering a mix of affordable living, cultural richness, and vibrant nightlife. I would highly recommend Wrocław University for anyone seeking quality education in an inspiring environment.
View moreI did my bachelor’s and master’s in the same faculty. I believe the bachelor’s program perfectly complements the master’s program. The only negative is that I wish there were more courses regarding pharmaceuticals in the master’s program.
View moreWhat I like is the student community, most of the courses and most of the professors. But I dislike the organization at times, it seems to be kind of chaotic. Signing up for classes is rather extreme. And there seems to be a funding problem: some institues are overfunded (law and biotechnology), while others receive close to nothing.
