The Poznan University of Medical Sciences (PUMS) is one of the best and largest medical universities in Poland, with over 100 years of sound academic experience and great growth momentum. PUMS offers the highest number of specialities for students to choose from, and the research and clinical teaching is conducted here in close partnership with six clinical hospitals. Its academic personnel is comprised of over 1,000 faculty members and teaching staff employed in Medical Faculty I, Medical Faculty II, Faculty of Pharmacy, and Faculty of Health Sciences, all of which are affiliated with the five programs at the Center for Medical Education in English. Most of the teaching staff are medical practitioners and doctors of medicine; around a hundred represent different scientific disciplines, and nearly a hundred are doctors of dentistry.Show more
I am a nursing student and I highly recommend attending to this university. There are many possibilities for development. We have well-equipped simulation centre as well as practical lessons in hospitals.
View moreStudying Nursing at the Medical University has been a very positive experience. The teachers are supportive and explain everything clearly, and the classes combine theory with useful practical training. The simulation labs and clinical placements help you feel prepared for real work with patients.
View moreI’m currently in my third year at Poznań University of Medical Sciences, and the experience has been intense but incredibly rewarding. The workload is heavy, but by now we’re getting real hospital exposure, which makes all the studying feel worthwhile. Professors push us to think like doctors, not just memorize, and that’s been a huge part of my growth.
The international community here is amazing—I’ve met classmates from all over the world—and the city itself is affordable, vibrant, and very student-friendly. Not everything is perfect (administration can be slow and exams are tough), but I’ve come a long way since first year and feel more confident every day.
PUMS is a well regarded medical school, one of the best in Poland and is recognized by the world federation for medical education. The university also provides access to about 7 different hospitals in Poznan ad that is excellent for hands on training. On the downside, workload is intense, and the administrative process is slow and confusing most of the times, and extracurricular activities are also somewhat limited to larger Universities. Overall, I would recommend PUMS for students that are looking for solid medical education in Europe.
View moreHonestly, my love for medicine is what keeps me here. Going to a school in a different country you have to adapt to different customs and ways of doing things which is very different to how things are run in my home country.
My issue with this school is the organisation, sometimes classes overlap, sometimes exams overlap with classes and students have to sort this out themselves, which should not be happening. Timetabling and exams shouldn’t be the students’ responsibility medicine are stressful as it is. As I said this is how things are run in this country.
