As a student who began my studies in the Tourism and Hospitality program at the University of Gdańsk in 2023, I appreciate being part of this newly launched initiative. Since it’s a fresh program, it’s understandable that both the academic staff and the university are still experimenting with different teaching methods and materials. I’ve noticed a genuine effort from the department to innovate and improve the learning experience, which is encouraging.
However, there are several areas where the program currently falls short. The curriculum still seems underdeveloped in some parts, and the teaching materials are not always well-structured or up to date. There are moments when the department appears to be trying new ideas without fully testing or preparing them, which can affect the quality and consistency of education.
Support systems for students could also be stronger, particularly in terms of career guidance, internships, and real-world exposure.
Overall, while I appreciate the opportunity to be part of this new chapter at UG, I believe there is significant work to be done for the program to reach a high academic standard. With more structure, improved coordination, and continuous feedback from students, the program has the potential to become truly competitive and impactful in the future.
