My university experience has its own bad and good sides. Considering that I chose a challenging degree program, I already expected the academic workload to be heavy. However, I was not prepared for how many number of units I was going to take each semester. The course program was so draining that many students shifted to another course. I was under constant pressure to do well because of the retention policy and the qualifying examinations that the school had. On the other hand, even though the program has its bad side, I can say that the multiple examinations (departments, qualifying, etc.) helped students be more familiar with different question styles that they may encounter in the actual board exam. This, gave them an edge over others because they got to approach these questions more calmly. The university professors, who were remarkable persons in the field, are very dedicated to teaching students not just theoretical, but also practical knowledge. These teachers are very committed to helping students achieve their goal of becoming a CPA.
