Studying Tourism Management was a fun and enriching experience for me. I really enjoyed learning about the culture and history of different places—it gave me a deeper appreciation for travel and diversity. One of my favorite parts was memorizing airport codes and country capitals, which honestly felt more like a game than a lesson.
We also had a Nihonggo class, which was super interesting (even if a bit complicated!), and it was cool getting exposed to a foreign language as part of the program. I also found the marketing subjects fun and useful, especially since it’s a big part of the tourism industry.
Another highlight was the educational tours—we got to travel and explore, which felt like learning and healing at the same time. It really helped bring the lessons to life.
The only downside was that a few instructors were difficult to approach, and some didn’t really teach well. But overall, I still really enjoyed my college years and learned a lot that I can carry into my future career.
