My professor in Accounting, Prof. Francia is not that good to handle her students. Also, her grading system is so unfair. The same with my professor in Distribution Management, Mr. Paul. He don’t have a consideration and so low in giving grades. But, I did my best to pass his sem but he is so unfair.
View moreMy university is one of the famous state universities in the Philippines and students are called isko and iska short for Iskolar ng Bayan. As we are called a state U our equipment is not that high end but the teaching professor honed and made us to be flexible and resilient. Also, we are the number one choice of employers when it comes to employment as we are trained to strive even in crucial times. I would recommend PUP to those less fortunate because it offers a full scholarship and has many sponsors that allow students to pursue a degree aiding them to have financial aid that helps their studies.
View morePolytechnic University of the Philippine (PUP) is the first Polytechnic University in the Philippine and I’m currently (September 2023) enrolled as a third year student while working. PUP has a program for undergraduate, for regular students, and for masteral. As for me, I enrolled in undergraduate program which help me to gain income while studying and it is recommended also for the parents who wants to pursue their diploma. In addition, I still recommend the PUP to all who wants to pursue business related diploma even though they have a career. I like PUP for giving the people especially parents chance to have a diploma.
View moreFor me, PUP is okay. Because it is a public university, the facilities are not that good, but considering that the tuition is free, it is good for less fortunate students who want to finish. I have good and bad experiences in PUP just like the profs who are not that hard to teach, there are profs who are very passionate about teaching.
View moreLike any other aspiring students, I too, saw PUP as one of the best universities. Mainly due to a few of my cousins had gone there and I heard stories of how fulfilling it was to be a part of this university. They were right about so many things, and I certainly wasn’t surprised about what its lacking as my expectations were properly set. Generally, I’d like to believe that I still received a higher quality of education compare to other state Us. However, I also know that there were professors who could have provided the education their students deserved. I know that whatever skills and knowledge I have now were honed over the course of my stay in PUP. This is where I built my confidence, obtained a certain level of competitiveness, and the natural urge to deliver your best. I studied alongside very intelligent people, and there’s the feeling that you don’t want to be the dumbest person in the room. So, this aspect pushes you to study more.
My college experience just really forced me to be independent but at the same time, not to be too cool to ask for help.
I can say that PUP pushes you out of your comfort zone, enlighten you to some of very controversial discussions and not be a uncultured swine.
It’s not a perfect university. Like any other government-owned schools, it’s lacking in structural development, the facilities are just not very student-friendly, and frankly speaking, not an ideal and comfortable learning environment. So, you tolerate what you can until you graduate.
Nonetheless, my overall experience in PUP is still one of the best because it’s the perfect combination of good and bad. Up to this very day when I meet a fellow Isko/Iska, I love exchanging stories and finding common ground in our experiences. PUP all the way!
