It is one of the best universities in the Philippines that produced board exam passers in most fields and is considered to have one of the best nursing programs in the country. While students excel academically, I find that the curriculum is more focused on theory than in practice. Students can easily perform well in exams but in my experience we didn’t have enough opportunities to gain on the job training and experiences that would have prepared us for the real world. After graduating, even though I knew how to teach in theory I had to learn the practices and methodology on my own through experience. I would recommend the school to students who are more focused on passing board exams rather than gaining useful experience in the field of their choosing.

I took up journalism, and it made me develop a competent, accurate, and cohesive writing style that requires responsibility in reporting. What I dislike about my major is that some subjects are outdated, and I believe that they require technology. Schoolwork is sometimes heavy, i.e., reading materials. On the other hand, deadlines are not an issue. The university itself is a great platform to learn regardless of what course or major to take, so I highly recommend it.
