What I’d Highlight:
Academic Rigor: ADMU’s programs challenge students to think critically, with passionate professors who blend theory and real-world applications.
Campus Culture: A vibrant mix of traditions (e.g., “Blue Roast,” “OrSem”) fosters camaraderie. The emphasis on “men and women for others” shines in student-led outreach programs.
Facilities: Modern libraries, well-equipped labs, and serene green spaces (like the MVP Roofdeck) create a conducive learning environment.
My Honest Review:
ADMU provided me with a holistic education that balanced academics, values, and leadership. I appreciated the small class sizes in my department, which allowed for mentorship opportunities. However, administrative processes (e.g., enrollment, cross-department coordination) could be inefficient. While tuition is high, scholarships and financial aid are accessible.
Recommendation:
Yes—ideal for students seeking a well-rounded education with strong Jesuit values. But research your specific program’s resources, as experiences vary by department.
Ateneo de Manila University is definitely deserving of its title as the number one university in the Philippines. It offers quality education to all of it’s students with some of the best educators in the country. Not only does it focus on your success as a current student, it also develops your future. It has various student organizations that develop your skills to be used in the work force, and also offers various opportunities to use these skills, such as job fairs, seminars, and student exchange programs.
View moreThe university offers many opportunities for students to learn and hone different skills, not just inside the classroom but also through other opportunities such as school organizations. I felt that the community always seek to protect and look after the welfare of the students, something I have always appreciated.
View moreMy friends did engage me on the fun side of learning, but it was the daily hands-on activities that made me see the beauty of actually being in this profession. Life was stressful as a programmer. We had homework and projects and we had sleep! My lecturers were always beating us up with deadlines for this or that or attending this lecture since it was a general topic for everybody and it will seem like fun, but it wasn’t. I thought of dropping out on those days, but it was worth it.
I joined the swimming club with my new friends and learned from them how to balance skills in new directions. Everything changed the day or rather the semester when I graduated secondary school and got admitted into Ateneo where I achieved balanced success. I moved to Australia soon after. I had a great experience and exposure to learning while being and traveling around the world. It was great. So if you’re looking for a challenge, I cannot think of a better place than this.
View moreThis university made me experience lots and lots of things. From being a so-called “probinsyana,” to experiencing the likes of being in such a bustling city. Ateneo made me realize that there is a lot in store for me. I just need to widen my horizons. With Ateneo, education is made better and stronger. It may be hard but the challenge is so worthit. I kid you not!
