As a student at Malawi College of Accountancy, I’ve had a positive and enriching academic experience. The college offers a solid foundation in accounting, auditing, and information systems, blending both theory and practical application. One of MCA’s greatest strengths is its industry-relevant curriculum, which prepares students for the job market by emphasizing essential technical and soft skills such as financial reporting, bookkeeping, and IT integration in accounting.
The lecturers are knowledgeable and approachable, often going the extra mile to ensure students understand course content. The availability of computer labs and access to online resources has also enhanced my learning experience, particularly in courses involving Excel and data analysis.
That said, like many institutions, there’s room for improvement. Facilities could be modernized further to match the evolving needs of tech-based courses. More internship or industry placement opportunities would also be a great addition, allowing students to gain hands-on experience while still in school.
Overall, MCA is a great institution for anyone looking to pursue a career in business, finance, or accounting in Malawi or beyond. I’m grateful for the skills and knowledge I’ve gained here.
View moreThe first thing i like about this college is the tutor to students ratio, the classes are not clouded hence giving the tutor some space to concentrate on each and every student personally. It is also located at a good place conducive for studies. The other thing is cultural diversity where by it accomodates different types of cultures. One of the challenges of this school is the introduction of four more modules in our programme.
