The University of Nigeria Nsukka is a prominent federal public university located in the southeastern Nigeria. The school has a rich cultral heritage and has produced numerous distinguished alumni who have made significant contributions in various fields. The school comprises of 15 faculties and over 100 academic departments, offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. my experience in the school was an amazing one and also eye opening to diverse cultures. There are big department buildings that accommodates all students during lecture time. My department, public administration, had over 50 lecturers and professors which made classes easier for students. The student lecturer relationship is a friendly one. The campus environment is nice and illuminating at night as there are several street lights in the school. When it come to social life, the school gives admission to people from different ethnic groups. With the help of numerous social clubs in the school, students get to connect with each other and understand cultural diversity.
Indeed, it is a school where human development is top priority as there moto states “to restore the dignity of man”.
Some of my dislike about the school includes the fact that they don’t offer enough scholarship programs. This can be a challenging factor for students who are not financially stable. Also, language barrier, as the dominating language over there is the nsukka local tongue amongst the indigene. This can be a challenge to some students who are not from the community.
