Studying medicine in the University of Calabar back in 1996 was a great experience. I really enjoyed learning about the workings of the human body and we had some great lecturers. However, we had to travel between campuses for lectures from other faculties in year one. In our clinical years we also had to travel across town to the teaching hospital and by the time we moved to the hostel beside the hospital, the hospital had started moving to the permanent site so the travelling continued.
Nevertheless, I had so many great colleagues in my course and other courses who made great friends. Then we had thriving Christian fellowships whose programmes I really enjoyed although I never got to be part of any
