The onboarding process for new students is smooth, although more of the process should be digitalised.

I studied at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri for five years, and my experience was largely positive. What stood out most to me was how serious and focused the teaching was. Lecturers were dedicated, and the academic environment encouraged discipline and commitment. The campus also provided a good atmosphere for learning—relatively quiet, with access to essential resources and facilities that supported study and research.

Although there were occasional challenges, like any large public university, the overall academic experience was strong. I believe FUTO offers solid preparation for the future, especially for students interested in science, engineering, or technology. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a serious and structured place to pursue a degree.

During my time at the Federal University of Technology Owerri, where I studied Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, I had the privilege of learning under seasoned professors and lecturers with extensive knowledge and experience from various countries. Their insights brought a global perspective to the program, enriching our theoretical foundation and fostering critical thinking in our approach to engineering challenges.

One of the highlights was the depth of knowledge shared in materials science, thermodynamics, and metallurgy, which provided a solid academic background. The curriculum was well-structured, giving us exposure to both classical and emerging trends in the field.

However, while the academic instruction was top-notch, our hands-on experience was somewhat limited. The availability of modern laboratory equipment and industry-standard tools could have enhanced our practical exposure, which is crucial in engineering fields. Despite this, the faculty compensated with innovative teaching methods, often simulating practical scenarios, and encouraging research-driven learning.

Overall, FUTO provided me with a robust academic foundation, preparing me for the professional world, especially with the guidance of a well-informed and globally experienced teaching staff.
