As a student in the English department at Nasarawa State University keffi, I’ve had a mixed experience. On the plus side, the faculty members are knowledgeable and passionate about their subjects. They’ve helped me develop a deeper understanding of literature and improved my critical thinking skills.
The department’s emphasis on research and analysis has been invaluable, and I’ve enjoyed exploring various literary periods and genres. The lecturers are approachable most especially Dr Shehu Ibrahim Ahmed, and I’ve appreciated their guidance and feedback on my assignments.
However, there are areas for improvement. Sometimes, the course materials and readings feel outdated, and I’d love to see more contemporary texts and perspectives included. Additionally, the department could benefit from more extracurricular activities, such as writing workshops or literary events, to foster a sense of community among students.
Despite these limitations, I’d still recommend the English department to anyone passionate about literature. The faculty’s expertise and support have been instrumental in my academic growth, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to study here.
