The University of Ilorin which is popularly referred to as the better by far university and has repeatedly bagged the award of the unified tertiary matriculation examination(UTME) for being the most sought-after federal school in Nigeria not because of some fancy state-of-the-art class rooms or laboratories but due to their ability to maintain a steady academic calendar whilst striking a balance between academics and extracurricular activities amidst the country’s flagrant disregard for the academic sector. They manage to provide highly intelligent, morally upright and well-rounded scholars amongst the lecturers and the students alike. The rich ethnic and cultural diversity therein also is a force to reckon with.

It’s a great school, and it has all the necessary facilities to impact knowledge but there is a need to work on the type of lecturers that are working here, some do have the habit of setting questions out of what they taught and also lack empathy from them.
One thing that Unilorin has is the growth avenue outside the classroom due to the level playing ground and also openness to organisations that enables the growth of youth e.g AIESEC, UCJ ( unilorin campus journalist), GDG on Campus Unilorin, rotary club, food safety club and many more.
All in all it’s a great place for learning
University of Ilorin (Unilorin) is one of the most sort after federal universities due to its fast and uninterrupted school calendar but this also has an effect with the way studies go on in the school. Plus the economy doesn’t make thing suitable, the electricity and water supply is poor and unstable.
Other than those things it’s a great school to learn.
