I had an overall positive experience at Obafemi Awolowo University. The academic support provided by the professors was exceptional; they were approachable and always willing to help students understand the course material better. The classes were engaging and up-to-date with industry trends, particularly in my undergraduate program/English Language.

The campus life was vibrant, with a variety of clubs and extracurricular activities that made it easy to build connections and explore interests outside academics. Additionally, the facilities, including libraries and labs, were well-equipped, enhancing the learning experience.

However, one area of improvement could be student housing availability. Despite this, I would highly recommend this university to prospective students who value a mix of academic rigor and a lively community.

When I say 2018 is my class year, what I actually mean is that I completed the highest university degree obtainable (PhD) in 2018.

Originally, I graduated in 2006; and, I completed my master’s in 2012. These alone (the fact that I kept returning to school up till the point of the obtaining a PhD) say a lot about my personal affection for the school.

OAU may not have the best of facilities but it certainly has some of the best academics, with faculty who can stand toe-to-toe with the best academics in the world.

Graduates of Obafemi Awolowo University are doing excellently well in their various fields across the globe. I personally teach in another university at the moment (Bowen University) making impact in the lives of future generations as well.

Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) is a prestigious academic institution. It is one of Nigeria’s leading higher institutions both in academic and technological areas.

I studied English Language and this exposed me to world beyond the written or spoken form of the language. Several courses that I took outside of English Language contributed immensely to my excellent communication skills.

Coupled with qualitative staff (teaching and non-teaching), another thing I found fascinating about OAU is its beautiful environment, building structures and landscape. Apart from its academic records, it’s a beautiful side to behold for student tourists.

I enjoyed my undergraduate days as a student.

Obafemi Awolowo University is an exceptional institution that provides a holistically educational experience for students. Their access excellence is at the forefront of everything they do. One of the things I like about them is its innovative teaching methods. They use different teaching techniques including project based learning to keep students engaged and motivated.

My university is an excellent one. Known for producing brilliant and excellent minds. But it’s disadvantage that the academic calendar is slow and we often go on strike because of the government refusing to pay the lecturers salary. This affected us a lot. For example, a student studying a four years course may end up using five to six years studying for the same course.
There are many things to enjoy on campus, like the concerts, the symposiums and so on.

As a student of Obafemi Awolowo University, my opinion about the university is generally positive. I appreciate the university’s strong academic reputation and the diverse range of courses offered, which allows students to explore various fields of interest. The campus environment is vibrant and fosters a sense of community among students. Additionally, the university’s commitment to research and innovation is commendable.

However, there are some aspects I dislike, such as occasional administrative challenges and limited resources in certain departments, which can affect the learning experience. Also, at times, the campus can feel overcrowded, leading to congestion during peak hours.

Despite the shortcomings, I would recommend Obafemi Awolowo University to prospective students because of the quality of education it offers and the opportunities for personal and academic growth. The university’s strong emphasis on character development, social responsibility, and leadership skills makes it an excellent choice for students seeking a well-rounded education.

Obafemi Awolowo University is one of the best in Africa, and it is a great citadel of learning. Built in serene environment with all the opportunities to reach the world. A lot of great people passed through that University from Prof Wole Soyinka to other icons in their different fields. This university gives room for one to explore, take advantage of opportunity globally and become internationally relevant.
