I had a beautiful experience at Delta State University, Abraka, Nigeria, especially with the wonderful coursemates and an environment that brings you close to nature. I highly recommend this institution.
View moreMy Campus experience in DELSU was quite exciting and educative. Being an undergraduate in the department of Language and Communication in the faculty of Humanities exposed me to various vistas of and nuances in communication and Information dissemination.
In the four years I spent on campus, I had the best of lecturers and lectures. My department ranks first in the faculty hence, competition was stiff.
Of all my lectures, I was close to Dr. Sunny Awhefeda, who is now a Professor. I greatly admired him for his mastery and vast knowledge of his field in the area of African poetry and Critical reviews of literary works. Another was Prof. G. G Dara, a scholar of African Oral Literature. He left quite an indelible impression on me with regards to the aesthetics in oral literature.
Conclusively, I can say it was edutaining and I would gladly welcome the idea of having that experience all over again.
Attending Delta State University was a transformative experience for me. The university provided a solid academic foundation, especially in my field of study, English and Literary Studies.
The lecturers were knowledgeable and committed, often going the extra mile to ensure students understood the coursework. The campus environment, though not without its challenges, was a place of learning, growth, and networking.
One of the things I appreciated most was the diversity of students and the opportunity to engage with people from different backgrounds. The experience broadened my perspective and improved my communication skills, which have been valuable in my professional journey.
However, like many Nigerian universities, Delta State University had its drawbacks. Infrastructure and administrative processes sometimes posed challenges, and students often had to navigate bureaucratic delays. Despite this, resilience and adaptability were key lessons I took away from my time there.
Would I recommend it? Yes, but with the understanding that success in any university depends largely on one’s determination, resourcefulness, and willingness to maximize available opportunities. Delta State University provides the foundation, but it’s up to the student to make the most of it.
View moreIt’s a cool school with qualified lecturers,
The school has good morals and values and also with good number of accredited courses.the school is ranking to 10 in Nigeria.its a really big school, but I realwish they keep improving and developing their systems.
As amazing as my school (DELSU) is, it has some shortcomings I didn’t like, and one of them is the lack of good sports facilities. On gaining admission into the school, I was so excited and enthusiastic about how I would participate in different sporting activities. Unknown to me, DELSU does not even have a sport centre, let alone sporting activities. But then, the academic aspect was a great advantage for me, as it greatly helped to shape my cognitive abilities.
I will surely recommend DELSU to people, but not to those who are keen on having great sporting experience during their study year(s).
