University of Benin is a federal institution but it is one of the greatest universities in Nigeria. It is highly reputed, cost effective and it receives at least 50 to 60 thousand new students every session. It is a good university and the teachers are top notch. The only problem I have with it is the recent spike in cost but in comparison to other universities, it is still more cost effective.

They could improve by making most lecture rooms spacious. Back then, the lecturers halls could not contain the total amount of students in my department.
Again, we focused on theoretical of education. We need to bring education into real life thereby making learning a thing of value.
The University of Benin is a wonderful university. At that university, there are a lot of subjects that you can study. So one has the choice to study whatever he wants. The university is located in Africa, but you can still learn about other countries like Europ countries, American countries, Asian countries…. including their civilizations.
View moreUniversity, they described it as a whole new world, it was that and so much more, in the area of studies ,it is honestly not great, they are only a few passionate lecturers, the manner the courses are taught is what i would describe as sloppy, lecturers can cancel classes without giving a good reason why, there are hardly enough lecture halls available for all departments in a faculty and the clearance process is what I call a nightmare it took me about three weeks to complete a clearance that in my opinion could have been done in a day, that process alone is the most frustrating thing i have experienced and I am just a sophomore, it is not my wish to condemn the school, the people are really nice and are willing to offer directions to a lost sophomore like i was a first, 6/10 there is a lot to improved, but it is not all bad.
