In my opinion, the University of Benin is one of the stronger public universities in Nigeria. It has a solid academic reputation, with a wide range of programs and experienced lecturers who know their fields well. I like that it offers good opportunities for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies, and it has produced a lot of notable graduates.
That said, like most public universities in Nigeria, it has its challenges. Some of the facilities and hostels are not in the best condition, and issues like electricity, water, and general infrastructure can be frustrating. The risk of strikes or academic disruptions is also something students have to deal with.
Overall, I’d say UNIBEN gives you a quality education and exposure, but you need to be prepared for the typical struggles that come with the Nigerian public university system.
