Being a pharmacy student and leader at Abuad

Getting into Afe Babalola University as a fresh student has to be the smoothest ride i’ve ever been on. They’re in tune with the digital age which means that the process from application to post utme to admission and even school fees payment was done online. This made everything ten times easier and faster. Getting to the school, the environment was well kept in the hostels and the classroom were fully equipped. Now they do have strict rules which doesn’t give room for mischief and probably makes it less interesting but the school works with the student body to help us balance our academic and social lives. Abuad is like a small town because everything you need is within the four corners of the school. As a student there aren’t plenty of reasons why you might want to leave the school premises except it’s a personal issue. Everything is provided there but a bit expensive. In my first year, i got elected as the class representative and i will tell you for free that it wasn’t an easy journey because it was like trying to control a bunch of adults but then i got to understand the concept of leadership and how to build trust among my peers in order to them to believe in me and follow my instructions. This was accomplished with the help of my level advisers. Every level/class in each college is assigned to a level adviser and they are the one responsible for that class. Students go to them for assistance and i went to them to complain how i was getting burnt out. They helped me through all of it. As a pharmacy student, i spend a lot of time in the laboratories and i can’t help but appreciate how equipped the labs are. The laboratories are cleaned all the time. There are air conditioners that help with ventilation and most importantly the laboratories are very accessible to students. If i would change anything about abuad, that would be the strict dress codes in my college, we are limited to a certain colour and style for our outfits, more like uniforms. I think people would like to express themselves through their style of dressing every once in a while
But apart from that, if i was to make that decision again, Afe Babalola University would definitely still be my first choice
