I like it because you have plenty of opportunities; no matter what modality you’re in, you’re always supported. What I dislike is that work stoppages are often due to direct events within the institution; however, this sometimes causes you to fall behind on activities.
View moreUNAM is considered one of the best universities in Mexico and Latin America. Pedagogy is offered by the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras. This program has two main orientations: research and intervention in education. Research methods courses are mandatory from the 1st to the 6th semester. In the 7th and 8th semesters, you can enroll in two optional research courses to help with your thesis. Regarding intervention, there is a lack of educational infrastructure for hands-on learning and practice (with a few exceptions, the classes are mostly theory-oriented). Most of the teachers are excellent; they work both in academia and in intervention, public or private institutions, and independently. Another great thing about this program is that it is physically located in Ciudad Universitaria, a beautiful place with many green areas and a rich cultural life. Overall, studying Pedagogy at UNAM was a great experience.
