I live and work in Germany and am a graduate of the DBA program at Signum Magnum College. I previously earned my Master’s degree in the USA. Although I had the opportunity to pursue a DBA there afterward, I preferred a European degree. I initially contacted nine universities: five in England, one Swiss, one French, and two in Malta, one of which was Signum Magnum College. While recognition wasn’t a primary concern in my discussions with the English universities, I pressed the Maltese institutions on this issue based on extensive research and the opinions I’d come across. The consultant from Signum Magnum College convincingly explained that, due to a lack of graduates at the time, SMC had no experience with the program in Germany and therefore couldn’t make a definitive statement. However, a legal opinion concluded that the DBA program was comparable to a German one based on its structure, learning objectives, duration, and academic approach.

Service, support, and costs were also important to me. I was offered a two-month free trial, which I ultimately accepted. As for the course itself, I was largely satisfied. The support is very good. The study groups are small. The lecturers were competent and approachable. The chemistry with one lecturer could have been better, but that was purely a personal matter. The learning system is a customized university version of Microsoft Teams.

After successfully completing my studies in autumn 2025, I applied for recognition of my degree in Germany. Due to the lack of an entry in the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs’ (KMK) Anabin database, an individual assessment by the responsible authority in the federal state was required. Among other things, the DBA diploma with the original stamp and signature, as well as an extended diploma supplement, were requested. The documents are typically submitted digitally. The assessment was successful. My DBA from Signum Magnum College is recognized in Germany, and I am entitled to use the title there. My expectations were thus met.

As a U.S.-based DBA student at Signum Magnum College, I value how professionally the program is structured for working executives. The format is genuinely flexible, with clear milestones and consistent academic expectations, but it still feels rigorous and outcome-driven. Communication has been responsive, feedback is practical, and the overall experience is focused on producing credible doctoral-level work without unnecessary bureaucracy. Anyone seeking an online doctorate that respects flexibility while holding up to high standards, SMC is a great choice. Faculty members are competent and boast of high real-life experience and academic profile, mastering online delivery and facilitation. Although time-zones can be challenging occasionally, the weekly online meetings with classmates from around the world are a real asset to the program and experience.

I’m currently enrolled in the PhD program at Signum Magnum College and I’m based in Switzerland. What I value most is the individual support and supervision. Individual support was already always available during my initial inquires and onboarding. My advisor (Timothy) discussed and facilitated my research idea long before I decided to join. This built and manifested my trust in SMC. Research direction is taken seriously and feedback is specific to my topic rather than generic. The program is structured around clear phases and milestones. The online portal and research infrastructure have been reliable and easy to use, which makes a real difference when studying remotely alongside professional commitments. Overall, my experience has been very positive and academically valuable.
