It’s one of the best universities in Kenya. Being a student here helps you connect with students from all over the world. The professors are nice and ensure learning is effective. But they have to since the school keeps in check with them so they can’t afford to slack. The professors also ensure there is adequate learning materials and so does the school through the state of the art library. What I don’t like is the culture shock. There are too many cool kids and as someone who’s introverted and from a humble background it’s hard sometimes interacting with cool kids.
View moreOverall, I would rate my programme very positively. The coursework provided a strong foundation in IT and cybersecurity while also giving me the chance to work on practical projects that built my confidence. What I appreciated most was the balance between theory and hands-on learning—working on real-world applications like mobile and web systems helped me connect what I learned in class with how technology is used every day.
The lecturers were approachable and supportive, and I also gained a lot from collaborating with classmates on group projects. Of course, like any programme, there were challenges such as tight deadlines and heavy workloads, but I feel those experiences pushed me to improve my time management and problem-solving skills.
Looking back, this programme has prepared me well for my career and given me the confidence to take on new opportunities in cybersecurity and IT development.

The only sad thing about my time here is that it is almost coming to an end but i always encourage anyone I can to come and pursue their education here.

The teaching approach goes beyond lectures by encouraging class discussions, group projects, and real-world case studies that make learning engaging. The diverse student community and supportive faculty create an environment where ideas flow freely, making the experience both educational and practical. USIU’s focus on global perspectives has also prepared me with skills and insights that I can apply both locally and internationally.
