Maseno University is located in Kenya, Kisumu County.Having graduated from the University in 2020, I had a broad and deep experience not only in my field of study, but also in the IT sector.This was achieved through the program the University had rolled out, where all courses had to be combined with the IT course, for instance B.A. Economics with IT. The University has a special school where the IT courses are offered.I liked the fact that the IT tution block is equipped with modern computers, convinient WIFI in conjunction with well trained lecturers.What is more exciting is the fact that exams and assignments are done on these computers for the IT courses, no paper work. Specific timers are activated in the computers to monitor the students during exams. The University also provides an e-campus platform. This is normally very helpful as those students who aren’t able to physically attend classes due to circumstances such as work, are trained online and get to graduate.The well modernised libraries are a big plus in the University.Students no longer need to tire using the catalogue to physically search for book names and authors in the shelves.This is thanks to the many computers and readily available wifi where students can actually search for the e-books online which is very convinient.The student portal that students access on their phones enable them to access roughly all essentials like their fee balances, exam results as well as rate their lecturers’s performance.This way they don’t have to keep visiting the departmental offices to get updates as even the exam timetables are posted on the student portal, opening and closing dates as well as any other additional notices.When it comes to IT conviniency, Maseno University is the place to be for all students yearning to be IT gurus.
