I studied at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and my experience there was deeply rooted in the traditional “book and conspect” learning method. Back in 2013, this approach was incredibly practical and structured, ensuring that students had a strong grasp of their subjects. However, as I now live permanently in Canada, I’ve observed how much faster the pace of knowledge acquisition has become, particularly with access to online tools, platforms, and diverse teaching methods.What I liked most about Al-Farabi was the dedication of the professors and the strong theoretical base it provided. It was a university that valued academic rigor and discipline. However, I felt that it lacked some of the dynamic, technology-driven practices now common in global education. If you are looking for a university that emphasizes a strong foundation in traditional academics, I would recommend it. However, I would suggest complementing the experience with personal research and modern tools to stay competitive in today’s fast-paced learning environment.
