As a master’s student in Optics and Lasers at the University of Tehran, I’ve found the academic quality here to be quite rigorous and challenging. The faculty is highly knowledgeable, and many of the professors are leading experts in their fields. The university offers access to some advanced research facilities, which has been essential for my work in photonics and laser technology. Collaborating on research projects with experienced scientists has given me practical skills I know will be valuable in my future career. However, the current political situation and the ongoing war between Iran and Israel cast a heavy shadow over daily life. Security concerns and the tense environment sometimes affect university operations, with classes or lab access being interrupted. Many of us are anxious about the future, wondering how the conflict could impact our studies and careers. Despite this, the student community remains resilient, continuing to push forward in pursuit of knowledge and innovation, even when the world outside feels uncertain.
