Russell Sage University has a great sense of community and offers a solid professional network for job opportunities after graduation. However, as an international student, I noticed some challenges. There are not many international students here, and due to visa restrictions, international students cannot work off-campus. The university previously allowed students to take on two graduate assistantships (GAs), which helped waive two classes per semester—a significant benefit for international students. Unfortunately, this option was removed, making it harder for us to manage financially and academically. Additionally, while graduate assistantships are offered, there are no scholarships available for master’s students, which feels like a missed opportunity to support diversity and financial inclusion.
