Calcutta University is a storied and academically rich institution that best serves students who appreciate deep theory, heritage, and research-based learning. Calcutta University may not have the infrastructure and industry alignment of newer private institutions, but it has the depth of history, academic rigor, and low overall cost that make it a excellent selection, particularly for students from Eastern India. One disadvantage of this university is student politics. Student politics play a significant role on campus but it can be a double-edged sword creating space for debate and leadership but occasionally disrupting academics.

My experience at the University of Calcutta has been overall positive. The B.Com programme provided a strong theoretical foundation in accounting, business, and economics. Professors were knowledgeable and approachable, especially when it came to helping students understand core subjects.

One of the best aspects was the affordability of the education and the traditional academic discipline, which helped me build a solid base for pursuing certifications and internships in data analytics later on. The curriculum was rigorous, and examinations were conducted in a structured and timely manner.

However, the programme would benefit from more industry exposure, digital skill development, and practical project work, especially in emerging areas like data analysis, business intelligence, and technology integration.

Despite that, I would recommend this university to students who are self-motivated and interested in building a career in commerce or related fields. It’s a great choice if you’re willing to take initiative and supplement your learning with online courses and internships.

The ambience of our University is simply wonderful. We got a perfect Learning ambience over there. The teachers were very kind hearted. The classrooms were specious and airy where we can learn fully close to nature. The canteen was also awesome where we got cheap and best food. Our common room was also very beautiful with fully equipped with indoor games. Moreover we had enjoyed our learning fully.

Overall its a good university with a good reputation. A little tough comparison to other because here you can’t score easily. Facilities, education is on point but there is no extra curricular activity as such.

There are a lot of internships opportunity provided by the college from semester 2 itself from which student can learn real life situations and prepare themselves for the real life and all these internships of chemistry also boosts their CV.

The University of Calcutta is an excellent choice for students looking to complete their graduation on a budget. The university has well-structured departments that provide students with a solid foundation in their chosen field of study. I found the university to be very accommodating, even though I had taken a gap of 4 years in my studies. With the help of the high-level employees, I was able to complete my B.Com without any difficulties.

The faculty members at the University of Calcutta are highly knowledgeable and experienced, and they provide students with a well-rounded education that prepares them for the challenges of the real world. However, I did experience some difficulty with the low-level employees who were sometimes stubborn and rude.

Despite this minor issue, I would still highly recommend the University of Calcutta to anyone looking for a quality education on a budget. The university provides students with the tools and resources they need to succeed in their academic and professional careers. Overall, I had a positive experience at this institution.

The college is under the worst University in the world. University of Calcutta in simple words is the most useless University to throw away your college years. No campus, no college attendance, no college life.

Renowned university but corrupted and lacks integrity. Scoring 65% under CU is considered great, even though it looks bad and acts as a drawback while preparing for competitive examinations like CAT,GMAT or even
getting admission for masters degree in certain acclaimed colleges.
