I completed my BCA from I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University in 2015. Overall, my experience was satisfactory but not exceptional. The academic structure was fairly organized, and the syllabus was aligned with industry basics, especially in computer applications and IT-related subjects.
Some professors were knowledgeable and supportive, particularly in core technical subjects. However, the quality of teaching varied depending on the faculty and affiliated college. Infrastructure also differed from college to college under PTU, which can impact student experience significantly.
The university provides a recognized degree at an affordable cost, which is a strong advantage. Placement opportunities were average. Students largely need to rely on self-learning and skill development outside the syllabus to secure strong job opportunities.
Campus life depends heavily on the affiliated institution, but overall student exposure to seminars and workshops was moderate.
I would recommend PTU to students looking for a cost-effective degree in Punjab, but they should focus on building practical skills alongside academics.
