My opinion about Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU):
I truly appreciate IGNOU for the quality of education and flexibility it offers. I admire how the university prioritizes practical learning, provides detailed feedback on assessments, and ensures that students understand why a particular grade was awarded. The opportunity for one-on-one tutoring and the patience shown by many faculty members helped deepen my understanding and gave me the confidence to progress.
What I found challenging, however, is the communication gap. There were times when I felt stranded—either due to delayed responses from coordinators or a lack of clarity in announcements. Additionally, grade cards are not updated regularly, which makes it hard for students to track their progress in real time.
Would I recommend IGNOU?
Yes, I would—especially for students who are self-driven, need flexibility, and are looking for an affordable yet credible institution. However, I would advise future students to be prepared for some administrative delays and to stay proactive in following up on their academic progress.
