Moreover, the courses are both flexible at the last 2 years of studying but also the first two years conclude more general subjects, including theoretical and economic teaching.
View moreOverall studying at the University of Piraeus has been a unique and fulfilling experience for me. This university is the reason I met my best friends and had a lot of great times and memories to cherish. The knowledge I gained by studying there, as well as so many skills such as time management, structuring an essay, presenting projects, teamwork etc will always be some of my biggest assets that will accompany me throughout my whole life. I am very grateful to all of my Professors and fellow students and Unipi will always have a special place in my heart.
View moreStudying at the University of Piraeus was a good experience in total. I enjoyed the syllabus and the facilities were very nice. Also, the quality of life for students was more than good. On the contrary, I believe many professors were mediocre in my opinion which was a problem for me, especially in the online lessons caused due to covid19. Generally, my studies were not perfect but a good experience overall. I believe the university could improve a lot by adding more discipline to the professors and the organising of the secretarial department as well as fixing the accommodation problem for students.
View moreThe programme markets itself for those aspiring to get into the shipping business, but not only does only a tiny amount of the courses actually concern shipping, but they are also shallow and outdated by at least a decade. Most professors are completely out of touch both with the industry and the students. No concrete practical knowledge is offered, only academic knowledge, which is useful in the right context, but it leaves the students completely to their own means to acquire practical knowledge and skills, which is unacceptable when you market yourself as a way in for shipping business. Personally, I had to sign up for a professional program following my studies to find employment. I hesitate to call the programme completely useless, but if you’re looking to get into shipping, you’re much better off studying economics or finance or getting into a marine academy. Avoid it like the plague.
