UPMC was established in 1971 and is a member of the Sorbonne University Group and a direct descendant of the historic Sorbonne. The university offers science and medical programmes to its 34,000 students of which 20% are international (2018). UPMC incorporates the majority of science subjects such as mathematics, mechanics, chemistry, medicine, and much more. The university also promotes study abroad programmes and offers different undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programmes in partnership with universities across the world.
