The University of Pau and Pays de l'Adour (UPPA) it is the third largest university in southwestern France. It's based in Pau. It was founded in 1972 and is now a multi-site establishment with sites in Pau, Bayonne, Tarbes and Mont-de-Marsan. It's a public higher education institution with specialises in arts, law, economics, management, literature, languages, social sciences, humanities, sciences and technology and sports. UPPA offers continuing education, work-study programmes or apprenticeships, as well as Bachelor’s, Master's and vocational degrees and Doctorates (through 5 UFRs and two Doctoral schools). The university is perfectly located, close to the Spanish border. Each campus owns modern communication devices, a university library, sports activities and cultural programmes with a range of student associations. 11500 students are currently enrolled in programmes at UPPA. The teaching staff prepares them for a future career in high-level positions. In order to give their students the best career prospects, teachers not only give personalized guidance, they also host job fairs and provide help when it comes to looking for internships and jobs. UPPA was ranked 12th (out of 80 universities) by the Ministry, for student support and success in their degree courses. The university works closely together with international and local institutional and industrial partners.
