Studying at ESSEC Business school offers a unique opportunity to obtain both a practical and theoretical business education as well as embark on a truly international academic journey. The school has a campus in Cergy (France), one in Singapore and one in Rabat (Morocco).
View moreThis 4-year programme provides a general business education and allows students to study a variety of subjects to choose what they wish to specialise in. The ESSEC BBA programme allows students to have several professional and associative experiences.
The strengths of the programme are its reputation and job opportunities upon graduation, but also its international dimension.
The weak points are a lack of depth in certain subjects, but this can be justified by the fact that the training is global and generalist.
I disliked the experience of this school, it’s located in Cergy which is 30-40 mins away from Paris by the RER. Cergy has absolutely nothing to do, there is a big mall and a lake but that’s about it. It also gets really dangerous at night. The accommodation is pretty expensive for what it is. The first year, I stayed at the university dorm nearest to my school, and the building itself was really old. Some of the professors are good teachers but it’s like some professors assume that all the students know the topic. Technically I had to teach myself a lot during the year and most of the year as well. It’s extremely expensive because it is also a private school, but there aren’t many international students as well. The students are mostly french, and if you don’t know french then you’ll have to figure everything out by yourself. I really regret coming here, I expected the education to be better and more organized, expected way more international students and the services provided by the university was not worth it.
View moreI am an ESSEC student since 3 years and I think that the BBA program is very good for people who want to work in management domains just after high-school. The courses are great and very interesting. I like the fact that you can choose what you study. ESSEC business school has one campus in Rabat and one in Singapore which makes it a very international university.
View moreI think the best thing about Essec is that it’s not focusing on academics rather it emphasizes on future job mindset and professional experiences..
The classes are interesting and we have plenty of workshops attributing to different sectors..
The campus is very nice with a good cafe and wonderful library.
The only problem is the location of the campus. It’s quite far from Paris.
ESSEC is a school rich in the diversity of its programs, teachers and students from all over the world.
The campus is very large and community life is still very much alive.
The BBA program is for me very complete and also allows a specialization in 3rd and 4th year.
I totally recommend the school.
Pretty good business school which gives the opportunity to develop your skills a lot. Yet one might argue about the lack counter opinions about some topics. For example you study mainly one kind of economic thought.
View moreAs a French speaking student coming from abroad, my integration at ESSEC went well. In fact, it’s difficult to fail your integration since the whole first semester is dedicated to it, with the seminars, the integration week, and all the parties brought to you by the student council. On top of that, a whole residence has been established near the campus to welcome all the first years, and I made a lot of new friends there. The negative impacts of this period is that some student can’t manage to work and party at the same time, so they fail their first semester. And secondly, that when the integration ends, the fact that there is two different tracks (French and English) can create a gap between the students of both tracks. Anyway, it has been a great time and I enjoyed it a lot. Fortunately, I managed to complete my first year and I now completely integrated in the ESSEC student life.
