Addis Ababa University holds a significant place in Ethiopia’s educational landscape as its premier institution. My experience here has been both rewarding and challenging. On the positive side, the university offers a wide range of programs and has a rich academic tradition. The library resources are extensive, providing access to rare books and research materials that are hard to find elsewhere in Ethiopia. However, there are notable drawbacks. Many professors lack adequate teaching skills or professionalism, which affects the learning experience. Administrative inefficiencies are another issue; for instance, delays in grade reporting and poor coordination during events like graduation can be frustrating. Despite these challenges, the sense of community among students is strong, and peer support often compensates for institutional shortcomings.
