at Universidad Yachay Tech

There is a lot of controversy on Yachay Tech. It was built in the government of Rafael Correa with the initiative to change the productive matrix of the country. During his presidency, public education was improved and as such, Yachay Tech had a great start. Ph.Ds. from all over the world came to participate in this great project. However, overtime and with the term of the new president, Lenin Moreno, who was supposed to continue the previous presidents tenure, betrayed him and went to the other side. It was at this time that public education as a whole became neglected and Yachay Tech was no exception. With less investment into the project, the promising Ph.Ds. left and were replaced with others not so promising. However, the students and professors still continue to fight for the once idealistic project. It has not settled yet, but continues to fight for the vision once projected by the past president.
