Universidad de los Andes is an outstanding university and one of the top institutions in Latin America. The quality of education is excellent, and the university offers access to some of the best engineering laboratories in the region. One of the highlights is the university’s extensive academic database access, which is incredibly useful for research and academic work.
The campus is well integrated into the surrounding area and maintains a secure, enclosed environment — something I personally appreciate. The restricted access provides a sense of safety and exclusivity. While the campus could benefit from more green spaces, the sports facilities are of very high quality and add great value to the student experience.
One area for improvement, particularly in the Civil Engineering program, is the teaching staff. Many of the professors are highly accomplished professionals or successful entrepreneurs in their fields, which is inspiring. However, this does not always translate into strong teaching abilities. In some cases, their lack of teaching skills made the learning process more challenging.
Overall, Los Andes offers a top-tier educational experience, with impressive infrastructure and resources, but could enhance the academic experience by focusing more on teaching quality within certain programs.
