Firstly, my first impression of Hong Kong Adventist College (HKAC) was overwhelmingly positive. The campus is not only friendly but also incredibly conducive to learning, with a clean and welcoming environment. As an international school, it boasts a multicultural atmosphere, attracting students from various backgrounds. When I transferred from my home country to Hong Kong, I anticipated encountering many local students. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find a diverse student body, which is something I truly appreciate.
Secondly, the friendliness of both the students and the staff stands out. Everyone at HKAC is genuinely caring, creating a supportive community that I have never experienced before in any other school. Although I needed to complete my foundation year here, I am now transferring to Andrews University in the USA to pursue my studies in Aviation. HKAC offers a wide range of programs, and I found that the faculty members take the time to engage with students, offering guidance and support.
However, I did face some challenges, particularly in socializing with local students. Initially, I found that locals could be somewhat critical. Nevertheless, as I immersed myself in their culture and learned about common social behaviors, I chose to focus on the positives and overlook any difficulties. Another significant challenge was financial; coming from an average-earning family with eight siblings, all of whom are also pursuing their education, made it tough to manage expenses.
Despite these challenges, my two years at HKAC have been fantastic. Hong Kong, as a city, feels very safe, and the school, run by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, emphasizes values such as honesty, transparency, and prosperity. I wholeheartedly recommend this school to other students, as I believe it offers an exceptional educational experience.
If I were given the opportunity to promote HKAC, I would be more than happy to do so. I am committed to doing my best and being devoted to this role. I believe that this job will greatly assist me financially as I continue my studies at Andrews University next year.
