The university is a great place that brings different ideas to the city of Concepción, the second most important city in Chile, which isn’t really a lot but it has much charm to it. The professors in my program were professionals and nice for the most part and my classmates were all likeable. Many of the things that I learned were useful for the future but once you start working you learn a lot too. The university is great and very green, which I like, and behind it there is a secret park that connects to another park located in the city.
The bad things about it are that there has been some instances in other programs there has been some abuse, that UDEC has tried to sweep under the rug, but now the head of UDEC is a woman so things may change for the better.
Overall, it was a great experience to develop in UDEC and learn more about the city that hosts it, Concepción.
It’s a highly prestigious university, with flagship programs like medicine and dentistry where they are national leaders. The downside is that it’s very impersonal, cold, and doesn’t value the students’ interpersonal relationships.
