at University of Waterloo

The University of Waterloo is a highly respected institution known for its excellent programs in computer science and engineering; however, its excellence goes beyond its program offerings. I was initially a student at Wilfrid Laurier University before I transferred to UW for the English—Rhetoric, Media, and Professional Communication program. This decision was incredibly nerve-wracking as I thought I would feel disconnected from my peers as a transfer student. Reflecting on this decision, I certainly do not regret coming to UW, as it has been the most welcoming environment—the community, resources, program, my peers—every aspect has made me feel secure and glad in my decision to transfer here. The support I have received from the University of Waterloo is reflective of the values held that ensure the growth and development of all students.
