Although the word class professors provide insightful information through their multi-hour lectures, self-learning has seemed to be the mantra for success for an independent student like myself. Lecture slides and recordings appeared to be a more efficient alternative for preparation rather than listening to live lectures––primarily due to the lack of the ability to adjust the pace of the lectures. Student life is tough given that the university itself takes little to no initiative in keeping the students engaged in forming a tightly tethered cohort. Nonetheless, the university allows students to get a real taste of the rigorous and unforgiving aspects of life that most students need to get exposed to in order to transform themselves from a mere ingredient into a ravishing dish.
