    Transformative Growth and Opportunities

As a third-year student in the Professional Communications program at Toronto Metropolitan University, I can confidently say that I have thoroughly enjoyed my academic journey thus far. This program has not only provided me with valuable knowledge and skills but has also allowed me to enhance my communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.

One of the highlights of the Professional Communications program is its comprehensive approach to developing effective communication skills. Through a blend of theoretical coursework and practical applications, I have learned how to articulate my ideas clearly, adapt my communication style to different audiences, and effectively convey information in both oral and written formats. These skills have proven to be invaluable in various aspects of my personal and professional life.

Furthermore, Toronto Metropolitan University offers numerous opportunities for students to engage in school initiatives that further enhance their overall learning experience. One such program is the Career Boost program, which provides job opportunities to eligible full-time undergraduate students. This initiative not only helps students gain practical work experience but also allows them to apply their classroom knowledge in real-world scenarios.

Another noteworthy program is the Tri-Mentoring program, which prioritizes the educational journey of each student by providing individualized mentorship. Through this program, students can benefit from the wisdom and experiences of mentors who assist them in finding their sense of belonging on campus. This personalized support system has played a significant role in my academic and personal growth, and I am grateful for the guidance I have received.

Based on my experiences, I would highly recommend studying at Toronto Metropolitan University. The institution offers a nurturing and inclusive environment that values the holistic development of its students. The faculty members are not only highly knowledgeable in their respective fields but also genuinely invested in the success of their students.

Moreover, the G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education, responsible for continuing education within Toronto Metropolitan University, offers a range of certificate programs designed to help learners take the next step in their careers. The school employs interactive online learning strategies that enrich the online learning experience, ensuring that students can acquire new skills and knowledge in a flexible and engaging manner.

In conclusion, my experience in the Professional Communications program at Toronto Metropolitan University has been incredibly rewarding. I have enjoyed the program immensely as a third-year student and have witnessed significant growth in my communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. With ample opportunities to engage in school initiatives such as the Career Boost program and the Tri-Mentoring program, Toronto Metropolitan University provides a supportive and enriching environment for students. I wholeheartedly recommend this institution to aspiring students seeking a comprehensive education and a vibrant learning community.

    Campus Experience

TMU is located right in the heart of downtown Toronto which means the campus is always full of life and interesting people. Throughout the year there are events on the Main Street of campus from dance parties to farmer’s markets. The school itself embodies the creative and bubbly energy of the city and makes studying there feel like you’re part of a bigger family.
TMU also goes above and beyond to make sure students have access to full support whether it be with your personal life through counselling and coaching sessions, to study groups, assignments guidance and research assistance. Truly is a well rounded experience

    Student Life at TMU

Campus life at TMU is truly amazing, with a variety of student groups, hangout spots, and study areas that make it easy to meet new people and form meaningful connections. One of the most outstanding aspects of TMU’s campus life is the diversity of student groups available. Whether you’re interested in sports, arts, politics, or anything in between, there is a student group for you. These groups provide an excellent opportunity to meet like-minded people and engage in activities you enjoy, which is a great way to make friends and feel more connected to the campus community. TMU has several fantastic hangout spots that make it easy for students to socialize and relax. From cozy cafes to spacious lounges, there are plenty of areas where you can kick back with your friends and unwind after a long day of classes. These spots are also perfect for group study sessions, which can be a great way to work on assignments while also building relationships with your peers.T MU hosts many events throughout the year, such as guest lectures, concerts, and cultural festivals. Personally, I found that joining different student groups was the easiest way to make friends at TMU. By attending group meetings and events, I was able to connect with people who shared my interests and develop meaningful relationships.

    Underrated university

I feel like TMU gets a bad reputation but it deserves more credit. There’s numerous programs to choose from and they make up for the lack of prestige with a lot of support. There’s different workshops to enhance yourself outside academia and many networking opportunities. The professors are generally good and it is very diverse.

    Writing and Reading

There were lots of variety of classes to take for courses not related to your program. Lots of spending for books, don’t recommend buying from the bookstore—online is better/library. Lots of writing involved of course, but manageable if you have good time management.

    Great Psych Program!

I loved my time at Ryerson! Great school with a unique urban feel. Classes across the downtown core (including in a movie theatre). Other than 1 or 2 iffy profs, I had many great professors and many interesting classes. Loved the double reading week and the short exam period, as well as extended summer. Great psych program too.

    My review

I love my program a lot because it has all I was planning to do and learn for my future. I experienced both online and in person classes, which was good because I understood which I liked and best for me. The student life there is amazing, there are many different things you could be part of and will help you throughout the university experience. The environment where the university is just was loved by me and many others. Overall my experience here is awesome and can’t wait to be amazed more in the coming years.

    Philosophy Program at Ryerson University

It is no doubt that Philosophy is one of the most overlooked programs at any university. Many people carry this stereotype that a Philosophy degree cannot take you anywhere in the professional life in the world. However, those very people have not considered the actual benefits that Philosophy teaches a student and where it can take them not just in the professional side of one’s life but personally.

When choosing any program at a college or university it is important to consider what the program specifically offers for its students. Many students overlook the personal development of students in the program. Ryerson University (renaming in the process) offers an Italy Credit Program in collaboration with Vancouver Island University which provides a unique interdisciplinary examination of one of the most dynamic and significant periods of European History.

In addition, the Philosophy Program at Ryerson University offers diverse learning formats that incorporate experiential learning, independent and group study, group discussion, public dialogue, and lectures.

One of the biggest benefits of studying Philosophy at the (X) Ryerson University Campus is that it is located at the core of downtown Toronto, so the connections and networking opportunities for students are endless. There are services and resources for philosophy students to connect with industry professionals and programs where they are able to get paired up with an upper-year philosophy student to guide them to well-balanced student life as an undergraduate students.

Remember, do what you feel passionate about. After all, you are the only one that is putting in the time, money, and effort for your undergrad and the opportunities follow from there.
