I was 27 when I decided to enroll at Lakehead University. Within no time I managed to graduate from a 3-year Bachelor of Arts program in History. The university has a good collection of interesting courses available even in the spring and summer semesters. Due to the wide course collection, I was able to easily satisfy my degree requirements and graduate a year early from my program. Teachers are great and the courses themselves were very manageable.

Not only am I getting a double degree, but I’m also making valuable connections and getting real-world experience with companies. View moreLakehead University has been my home and place to collect knowledge since 2022. My experiences with this institution have been both positive and negative.
Talking about the positives, the professors available here are extremely good, especially in my field which is commerce. Most of them hold a great amount of knowledge and experience. The ratio between students and professors is also great which helps to understand lessons fast. Adding more to the positives, the university organizes many events that helps as an ice-breaker for the new comers. I made most of my friends here through such events and I strongly believe that university life without friends is incomplete. So thanks to them for organizing such events.
However, there are some problems as well. Starting with the lack of scholarships for international students. The major scholarship available for us is the Entrance Scholarship which too non-renewable. This is a major con as it would be difficult for many of us to gather that money if we lose the scholarship. There are other scholarships but based on past data, most of them are awarded to domestic students. Furthermore, the on-campus living facilities are not so impressive. I feel it is not value for money. Some residential assistants are reluctant to listen to our problems and the management is a little lazy when it comes to fixing or repairing any housing issues.
Overall, I would say that Lakehead University is a great university for you if you can arrange your housing options off-campus.
Thanks!
