Overall, McMaster University is a wonderful school to study at. The smaller campus size makes the university experience more intimate and less intimidating. In terms of location, McMaster University is quite stunning as it is located close to Lake Ontario and its surrounding forests. The grounds are absolutely stunning and create a pleasant place to study. McMaster University has multiple libraries and study areas to take advantage of which should not be missed. Academic advisors are helpful and respond to inquiries quickly (at least in the social sciences department). The Anthropology and Geography departments have a number of great professors who make learning really fun and engaging.
I live locally and did not need to stay in residence; however, I’ve heard that it is not the best experience. If you live in a non-student residence, owning a vehicle is essential as the surrounding area lacks grocery stores.
Great university. Campus is always beautiful and accessible to anyone. Location is good, plenty of areas to shop nearby, the rest are mostly homes but there is a city close by. There are a wide variety of courses to choose from and the professors are excellent. They are often available and there are plenty of opportunities to work with them or in the area you are studying to start your career.
