University of Plovdiv Paisii Hilendarski (reviews)

I love my program and my classes especially. I think the majority of my professors are good at their job and are very friendly as well! What I don’t like is that there are a few “filler”, if I might say, classes, that I think are irrelevant to my idea of how I would like to apply my major in the future. I think the university, and my faculty specifically, are great and I would recommend it; it is also fitting for international students.

Most students that come to this university keep it as a back up or a safety option, which is exactly what it provides; a second chance at medicine for those that could not get in to their first choice. Generally, there is a great vibe in the city as the locals are friendly and their are plenty of international students, mainly from England, Italy and Greece. The teaching is of standard quality you would expect in a medical university however the quality of the facilities, especially the library, can be lacking.

It’s a good place to study, Plovdiv city centre has a nice vibe and atmosphere. The system is flexible when it comes to attendance cause many people work and study and still manage to graduate. I’ve enjoyed the contact with certain members of the academic staff while others turned out to disappoint. There was a lack of choice when it came to elective courses. All in all it was a positive experience. You should remember that it is up to you to push yourself and develop skills and areas of knowledge you find useful, but the Uni provides a good base to build up upon.

My experience as a Bachelor’s and a Master’s graduate from University of Plovdiv Paisii Hilendarski is entirely positive. I received a very high-quality education there and also the necessary practical qualifications to start a good job in my major. I am entirely satisfied with the level of learning and the teaching practices at the University. I would definitely recommend studying there to anyone who is willing to get knowledge with the help of some of the most qualified professors in Bulgaria.

I graduated from the University of Plovdiv a bachelor’s program in Bulgarian Language and Modern Greek and Master’s – Modern Bulgarian Studies. The education at the university is extremely high, supported by the outstanding teaching staff. As a negative, I would note the completion of the curriculum with some unnecessary disciplines. I recommend the university to anyone who wants to develop and deepen their knowledge in the field of philology.
